Spring Semester 2020

Second semester has come before we even realized it!  I hope each of you have enjoyed your holiday break and are ready to get started in all the enriching activities planned for this semester. 

In Career Preparedness, we will focus on three integrated areas of instruction - academic planning and career development, financial literacy, and technology.

Business Finance students will explorskills necessary to become entrepreneurs as well as the attitude, characteristics, and techniques found in successful entrepreneurs that students will need to succeed.  


Accounting students will participating in Dual Enrollment with Wallace State Community College, earning college credit in Principles of Finance.  


BTA students will get a chance to earn college credit as we explore Microsoft Office 2016.  This semester will focus primarily on Microsoft Office Excel. 


Most of all, I look forward to getting to know all the new students and I would like to challenge each and everyone of you to put your best foot forward and be the best student you can possible be!  It's going to be a great semester!!

Welcome 2019 - 2020 School Year

A new school year is upon us and I'm very excited to meet each of you! This year is going to be packed with new and exciting things for each of us. I am eager to begin our adventure into the world of Career Preparedness, Accounting, Business Technology Applications, and Personal Finance. I'm privileged to share with you all the intriguing information each has to offer. This is my seventh year as a teacher, and before that, I spent seven years in the business environment. I look forward to teaching you things that you can later apply in the working world.

In Career Preparedness, we will focus on three integrated areas of instruction - academic planning and career development, financial literacy, and technology. While in Accounting, we will explore the basics of financial accounting, including analyzing and recording business transactions, preparing and interpreting financial statements, demonstrating generally accepted accounting principles, and performing banking and payroll activities.  We have access for you to become certified in Quickbooks.  In BTA we will learn all about Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access and give each of the opportunity to learn national credentials.  In Personal Finance we will learn financial and investment planning procedures by exploring the many different ways to manage money successfully. 

In life, no matter which career path you choose, this information will give you a competitive advantage and hopefully enable you to become very successful in your future endeavors.

Spring Semester 2018

Career Preparedness B students will have an opportunity to explore different aspects of the financial world.  We will use knowledge gained in Career Preparedness Part A as we apply our decision making steps toward determining the overall best choices to make sound decisions for our futures' financial portfolio. 

Business Finance students will explorskills necessary to become entrepreneurs as well as the attitude, characteristics, and techniques found in successful entrepreneurs that students will need to succeed.  


Accounting students will explore the many ways financial statements impact businesses, investors, and creditors.  


BTA students will get a chance to earn college credit as we explore Microsoft Office 2016.
